Description

The four-track extension of the Nuremberg - Ebensfeld section is part of the German Unity Transport Project No. 8 (VDE 8).
It comprises the four-track extension of the existing Nuremberg - Ebensfeld section and the construction of a new two-track electrified high-speed line between Ebensfeld and Erfurt. Part of the Nuremberg - Ebensfeld extension is the installation of the S-Bahn service in the Nuremberg - Erlangen - Forchheim route.
Since the course of the S-Bahn between km 12.4 and km 16.5 has not yet been clarified, the line 5972 Nuremberg - Eltersdorf (S-Bahn) is connected to the line 5900 Nuremberg - Bamberg (mainline) at km 11.5 with the new Unterfarrnbach interchange. Due to the unresolved situation regarding the further course of the S-Bahn, it is currently not possible to estimate the duration of the construction phase.

The subject of the contract was the renewal of the control and safety technology for the installation of an ESTW-A for the Fürth-Unterfarrnbach branch (line 5900 and S-Bahn line 5972) with the following contents:
