Description

The ICE plant Berlin Rummelsburg 2 is currently being fundamentally rebuilt as part of the expansion project. The existing multiple unit hall is being extended by 200 metres. The hall infrastructure in the existing hall was adapted to today's standards and upgraded for the future handling of the ICE 4.
As part of the inventory, the existing 670 V depot feed was also checked for ICE 4 suitability.
The existing hall in the ICE plant Berlin Rummelsburg 2 consists of two vehicle halls, which were built in different construction phases. BA 1 with tracks 555 and 554 was built in 1992. BA 2 with tracks 553, 552 and 551 was built in 2007. Both halls are connected to each other and form the existing ICE plant. Due to track renaming, the records list tracks 551, 552 and 553 with the old designation 543, 542 and 541.
The depot feeder operates with two outgoing bays. Field 1 supplies the first BA, field 2 the second BA. In order to keep the site operational, the landfill feed is to be renewed in two construction phases.
Depending on the variant, it must be investigated whether parallel operation of the new and the old plant is possible. These effects are to be presented accordingly in the analysis of the variants and in the decision document to be prepared.
